I haven’t gotten too caught up in all the changes in the late night TV scene as of late, but this moment last night, was golden.
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has well been known as dominating the musical acts on the late night TV circuit. Jimmy’s young, he’s got The Roots backing him, and he supports good music. It was a win-win situation if you were a big music fan. He’s had everyone from Grimes, to The Boss, to Justin Timberlake, to my love, Eddie Vedder, on his show. Having all of these amazing musicians on his show, would lead one to believe that he would pull out something incredible for his last night as the host of Late Night. Cue, Jim Henson’s, The Muppets.
Let me make one thing clear, I LOVE The Muppets. Muppet Babies and The Muppet Show was one of my favorite TV programs to watch as a kid. The Muppet Christmas Carol is still my favorite Christmas movie, to this day. You can imagine how excited I was to find out that Jimmy Fallon would have his last send off with The Muppets. He could’ve had anyone else out there, but he chose The Muppets to sing a lovely song with him. I cried. I fucking cried. It was such a sweet and perfect moment. Well done, Jimmy, well done.
