Album Stream: Benjamin Booker – Benjamin Booker

I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a new artist in a long, long, long time.  And I can’t honestly remember when I’ve been dying every day wishing his debut album was out already… This kid is worth the hype in every way.

I first learned of Mr. Benjamin Booker while listening to Chicago’s local radio station, 93XRT.  I honestly wasn’t paying attention to what they said about him but as soon as his song came on, I shazam’d it immediately.  When his name popped up I knew it looked familiar, the reason being, he was opening for Jack White on his recent tour dates.  If Jack fucking White picks you to open for his shows, you know you’re something special.

Later on, I come to learn he played Lollapalooza.  A festival I was at, but failed to see that he was playing a slot, until the day after. I am kicking myself in the butt for this massive error on my part.  Then Rolling Stone decides to come up with a, “40 Best Things We Saw at Lollapalooza 2014” article and guess who got the “Best Rock Star Moment“? Yep, you guessed it, Benjamin Booker. Ugh. I am vowing to never miss one of his performances again… at least to the best of my ability.

If you’re a fan of blues, rock, indie, grunge, or just love music coming from New Orleans, then there’s a good chance you’re going to dig this kid. He also happens to destroy a guitar now and then… musically and physically 😉

Anyway, enough of me blabbing on. I’ll let his music do all the talking. You can stream his self-titled, debut album, Bejamin Booker HERE.

If you want even MORE, check him out playing, “Have You Seen My Son?” & “Violent Shiver” on Conan, last night.
